About Me

My photo
Hey, it's Chelsy, with a Y! I am a wife to my sweet prince, and mother to one spunky little princess and one handsome little ham of a prince. Painting is my drug of choice. Wine is good too. I'm known to speak without thinking and eat to much chocolate. I love meeting new people, and learning new things. So this is my journey through some not so glorious moments, some not so intelligent thoughts and some possibly crafty ideas.

A little update!

Hey y'all! Miss me?! No? Oh, ok then. Well, I missed you! Guess what's been going on at the Phillips house in the last six months? Jaxon started walking. Then he started running. Then he turned one. I. KNOW. A lot happened in six months didn't it?

Newborn and One Year
What a difference a year makes, huh?

Hubby started a new job. He is now a college instructor. Awesome, huh?! Taylor has been her usual sweet self. She is smart as a whip and surprises me everyday with something new that shes learned.
She also got a new pet, and...well....she just loves him so much! Can you tell?
Taylor went to her first movie at the theater with her "boyfriend" Cason. She did really well, and we both enjoyed our day out!

And finally, I'm ending this post with one of the hardest, saddest  things I've ever had to go through. Daniel's sweet Granny  went home to be with our Lord last week. Although I only  had the privlege to know her for a few years, she made a huge, HUGE impact on my life. And I know so many other people can atest to what an amazing lady she was. It was truly a gift to know her for as long as I did. At the funeral her granddaughters read Proverbs 31: The wife of Noble Character. I am still amazed at how much this passage directly reflected everything our Granny was.  If you have never read it, I would encourage you to do so. I will spend the rest of my days trying to please the Lord and the people around me in the ways that our Granny did. Please call your loved ones and tell them how much you love them and hug their neck next time you see them.

Here are the verses from Proverbs 31: 10-31(NIV)
Epilogue: The wife of Noble Character
10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. .
