About Me

My photo
Hey, it's Chelsy, with a Y! I am a wife to my sweet prince, and mother to one spunky little princess and one handsome little ham of a prince. Painting is my drug of choice. Wine is good too. I'm known to speak without thinking and eat to much chocolate. I love meeting new people, and learning new things. So this is my journey through some not so glorious moments, some not so intelligent thoughts and some possibly crafty ideas.

"She did it->"

That's right- This sweet little girl DELETED my blog! I am sooooo embarassed to admit that I wouldn't know how to delete my blog even if I wanted to, but somehow this sweet little 20 month old managed to delete it...EVERY. SINGLE. BIT. OF. IT. And she managed to do it in a matter of seconds. So, just for to you to get a good laugh out of the situation, here's how it went down:

Miss T and her daddy were playing outside, so I was taking advantage of it and blogging working on my laptop in the living room. The hubs comes to door and asks if I can get her some juice, and when she saw me she decided she wanted to come "heep" (help). So I sit the laptop down on the couch, and preceed to walk the 20 feet to the kitchen, get her a cup, pour juice in it, and walk the 20 feet back to the living room where I find her pressing buttons on the computer. YIKES!! She knows not to mess with the computer, but it was my fault also for leaving it in such an accessible place. When I handed Miss T her juice, I glanced over and saw this message "Thank you for using Blogger, we hope you enjoyed your experience" (something along those lines, I don't remember for sure, I was in SHOCK people :) The following conversation went something like this:

Me: Taylor???? I think you just deleted mommys blog

Taylor: huh?
Me: What did you push?? Oh no...
Taylor: oh no...uh oh
Me: Yes "uh oh" is right! It's ok, maybe mommy can fix it. You aren't supposed to mess with the computer, ok?
(Then the cat walks by the window)
Taylor: Cat? MEEE OWW!
Me: Yes Taylor that's the cat, good job. Did you hear what I said? Don't mess with the computer, ok?
Taylor: Ok.
Then she waved bye and ran off to finish playing outside!

It was so funny, and she was being such a sweetheart, I couldn't be mad if I tried :) Needless to say the next couple of hours were spent trying to save my beloved blog! Luckily, I save all of my posts, and widgets, so that part was easy. Unfortunately, when I went to type in my URL address this is what it said- "Error, this address is already in use", which I replied with "I know it is, by ME!" This is when I called in the big guns and contacted the wonderful experts at blogger. They weren't able to retrieve my previous URL because it was already in use by someone else. Really, it's only been an hour? They were however able to recover all my comments that went with my posts. (YAY!) These people were so nice and smart, and all got a good laugh out of the situation!

So if you are reading this post and were previously a reader, or follower please update my URL on your page.  Don't forget about this tomorrow:

I am so excited to be linking up at her amazing blog! Remember to leave a comment to be entered to win tomorrow's project:) Hope you all had a great weekend, see you tomorrow :)

{You're in for a treat!}

So, I am seriously losing it over here! I mean K-RAZY! Yes, I just used a "K" to spell crazy because it is that bad. Let me back track a little bit and scream at the top of my lungs explain why...We are on a "No Spending Challenge" for a whole, yes a WHOLE month!! Have you people ever heard of such a thing?! It's ludicrous! Basically what it means is that we can't spend money on anything that is not a necessity. So, no going to garage sales, or Goodwill, and ESPECIALLY not Hobby Lobby (gasp! :0) or JoAnn's. We can't even go out to eat! (Yikes! That means I have to cook! You ladies have any good recipes you can send me?!) I guess I also need to tell you why we are doing this challenge- The hubs just started a new job. (Yay!) It was not something he planned on doing really; he just got an opportunity he couldn't pass up. And, as I said before it was pretty spur of the moment, which meant no planning or saving...which means things are pretty tight around here...see where I’m going with this?

EDITOR'S NOTE: I am super excited about the Hubs new job, it really is going to be a great opportunity. I have been wanting to do this challenge for a while now. And in all seriousness I really am excited about it and I think when it is all over with we will be very humbled and proud of ourselves:) I know there are people out there who are doing this challenge for longer than a month and am truly inspired by them, and I plan on doing this challenge about four times a year, (but maybe not for a month:) one challenge for every season!

I bet you all are sitting there (if your still reading this, and I haven't lost you with my rantings) wondering what my definition of a "treat" is! Don't worry I’m getting there- like right now!

The Oh-So-Fabulous Chris at Just-A-Girl is having a little party on Monday, the 9th, if you haven't ever read her blog… Do. It. Now! No, wait...not right now, finish mine first silly:) She is too funny, and very crafty. I hate love her, and secretly wish I could be her am always inspired by her. Anyway- she's having her annual "I can make that" party, this is the second year she has done it and I am so excited. I didn't participate last year because I was living under a rock and had no idea what a blog was but I can't wait to do it this year. The party is for anyone and everyone who would like to share any tips/tutorials/ideas for in-expensive gifts this holiday season. Right up my alley!

And it get's better! I am going to take it one step further...I am not only posting a tutorial on Monday for her party, but I am going to post one everyday next week! Yay for you!! That means 6 (Sunday is a day of rest, remember?!) great, cheap, and fun things for you to run out and buy supplies for,(cuz I can't, remember?) however, a lot of these "supplies" are items you probably already have on hand, so you might be able to get crafting right away :)

In case you are wondering "why?" I am doing this, then I will tell you... it's because, my lovely little bloggies, since I can't spend money I needed something a little more challenging to "occupy" my daughters nap time and my normal crafts weren't cutting it! I realize how shallow that last sentence may sound, and please don't think I am worrying myself over the fact that I’m not spending money. I am actually pretty frugal and resourceful. But have you ever heard the phrase "you don't know how bad ya want it 'til ya ain't got it"? (or something like that;) Yeah, that's me in a nutshell right now. Soooo... I searched the depths of my brain (and closet) for ideas and even resorted to stealing borrowing some more talented people’s ideas. (Which I will link to so you can enjoy them also!)

Now, one more little surprise and then I promise I will be finished. To celebrate my weekly challenge, to challenge my existing challenge (huh?) I am having a ***GIVE AWAY*** on Saturday, Nov. 14! All you have to do is leave me a comment each day for each tutorial! Easy, right? That's six chances to win, if you enter everyday. Your prize will be Monday's post for the party, and No, I will not tell you what it is, you have to be surprised. Ok, ok, ok...don't pout, I will give you a hint- It's......some sort of JEWELRY!!! Mmmhhmmm...That’s what I thought; your excited now, aren't you?! And just a little bonus because I love you all soooo much, if you tell your friends about my blog and they leave a comment also, you will get another entry for the give away!

I hope you all have a great weekend, and don't forget to come back Monday :) Also, don't forget to go check out the Just-A-Girl blog, its complete awesomeness.
P.S. Thanks for sticking with this post! I realize it was really long and I'm still adding to it, but it really is such a free-ing thing to be able to write/vent/teach about the things that are inspiring to me :) And since every post needs a pic...

Easy, Cute, and Cheap! 3 of my favorite words when....

Crafting :) Get your heads out of the gutter, what did you think I was going to say? "When I'm on the prowl?" Shame on you! Hehehe...Anyway on to my so easy your five year old could do it pretty cute and cheap fall decoration I made this morning.

First, take some of these window clings. Mine were $0.50 at the dollar store on clearance. (Yes, clearance at the Dollar Store, doesn't get much better than that :)

Then take some empty picture frames and cut out cardstock, scrapbook paper, or even fabric to fit inside (I used cardstock) and decorate with your window clings. They work better on the inside of the glass, but you can add them to the outside also with a little Windex if you think they could use something extra and are to lazy to take the backs off of your frames. (It's okay, I won't tell :)

And you're done! See, easy right? And cheap and fast! Can't make a liar out of me :)

Here they are on my mantle. Not sure that's where they are staying but that's where they were when I took pictures.  I'm linking this to Kimba's DIY Day, there are so many great projects there...you should check it out! And, Cheri's It's so very creative party, such fun!

Happy Tuesday,

Little Lady(BUG)

Miss T had such a great Halloween! I wasn't sure if she would understand the whole "process" of trick-or-treating, but she did really good! I kept working with her and trying to get her to say "trick-or-treat" but she refused just couldn't get it, so instead she walked up with her little bucket and held it out and said "Pleeaaase" :) It was so adorable, and I was one proud Mama!

Now, for the costume...Your gonna die at all the cuteness bottled up in this little ladybug :) You might also croak when I tell you how much it cost me to make....ready?.....here goes.....$5! Yup, that's right five buckaroos! You're jealous aren't you?! Here's a little rundown just so you will believe me: Tulle-$3, Felt-$1, Wings-$1 that's it, that's all I bought! (Man, I love being frugal:) Now, let me tell you before your head flies off- She already had the black shirt and tights so I saved money there. And I had pipe cleaners, elastic, and glitter in my craft box so I also saved with that. I wanted to enter her in the costume parade over at Make It and Love It but I didn't get there in time. There are so many adorable costumes over there for you to check out, I have so many fun ideas for next year. Yes, I am already planning for next year!! I hope you all had a great Halloween! I'm about to take down my decorations (sniff, sniff) and put out some Turkey day decor. I am also working on a fun family project to remind us all what we are thankful for :) Happy Sunday!!

Taylor and her cousin Rhylie (a.k.a. Abby Cadabby:)

She's not sure what to do with all that candy!

Something Old.....Something New....Something Adorable!

First of all a little bit of business to take care of..... I am deleting my "family" blog and just going to incorporate some pictures of the little lady on here. So, if you are one of my many two followers, please make a note of it!

Now for the good stuff! Here are a few items I made this week. My new favorites are the wipe cases! I have tons of these hanging out at my house, I don't know why they like it here so much, but I just can't seem to get rid of them :)

I have also had a fun time with dye! It was my first time, I hope you can't tell....

Let me know if you see anything you like or if there is anything I can make for your little ones!! Hope you all have a great week :)
