Are you ready for All Hallows Eve? No? Me either. I have a few last minute things I need to finish on Rapunzels costume. But I wanted to share with you a super easy and cute craft (that's how I roll) to make for your little ones candy buckets. <br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDLDZE6fb4PClGRm8ENV5dGM5b4052ed1buSIhZGguKmUkG5JEn5dx5Ws0UyA0cuHg0yMXnSB8Ele8liz7PU-kV67fShDNVdt5yxLPS3bj_aa7m5PlhtHOgr21Qwgx7Hl7bsUSvN5Atdc/s1600/photo6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" ida="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDLDZE6fb4PClGRm8ENV5dGM5b4052ed1buSIhZGguKmUkG5JEn5dx5Ws0UyA0cuHg0yMXnSB8Ele8liz7PU-kV67fShDNVdt5yxLPS3bj_aa7m5PlhtHOgr21Qwgx7Hl7bsUSvN5Atdc/s320/photo6.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Cute, huh?!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Rocket science, huh?! This seriously took me about 20 minutes to do both! If your kids are older, this is a great project for them to do. Not polite at all. But….BUT…sometimes, like now, I just can’t help myself. This is so super stinking cool, I just had to share it. I know most of you have heard of the 100 Days of Holidays on Parents.com. If not you seriously need to check it out, it went live on Sept. 16 and will run through January 1, 2012. I’m not only mentioning this, because it has tons of super cute, fun and creative crafts and ideas, it also has one of MY creative crafts! I. KNOW. I was so humbled when I received an email asking permission to use my <a href="http://sweetpeasandkisses.blogspot.com/2010/11/yarn-snowman.html">Yarn Snowman</a>. Here is the <a href="http://www.parents.com/holiday/christmas/decorating/family-friendly-winter-decorating/">link</a> that will take you directly to the slideshow that Jack appears in. The slideshow doesn’t air until November 11, so you all are getting a sneak peak! Here is the <a href="http://www.parents.com/holiday/">link</a> to sign up to be emailed all the 100 Days of Holidays crafts.<br />

</div><div style="background: #eff4b0;">Pizza Crust:</div><div style="background: #eff4b0;"></div><div style="background: #eff4b0;"><br />
</div><div style="background: #eff4b0;">1 Tbsp. active dry yeast</div><div style="background: #eff4b0;"><br />

</div><div style="background: #eff4b0;">Dump onto a floured surface.</div><div style="background: #eff4b0;"><br />

Guess what? I have a super fun craft for some of my favorite peeps (that's you;) to make today! I know Halloween is still a few weeks away, but I got the fev-ah. The kids and I created these shirts, and I am so super in love with them! </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivC1cRQDHcLdqrLavOnjAGND4vGmkrImBW-BHowNPYunisHg7FYhnekIVQ_tGQUCKqWBhsuTYk92kPJrA72O-sB8kloIG5CYAIEqo0eJ0m9lKnEyLtS1gBatN5LwdYD-nTMsCH-20JkxI/s1600/IMAG0296.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivC1cRQDHcLdqrLavOnjAGND4vGmkrImBW-BHowNPYunisHg7FYhnekIVQ_tGQUCKqWBhsuTYk92kPJrA72O-sB8kloIG5CYAIEqo0eJ0m9lKnEyLtS1gBatN5LwdYD-nTMsCH-20JkxI/s320/IMAG0296.jpg" width="191px" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I've seen a TON of crafts with handprints, but I have this thing with baby feet. I. KNOW. They are so soft and sweet and I wanted to make something with <a href="http://sweetpeasandkisses.blogspot.com/2011/05/god-made-world-out-of-his-dreams-of.html">this sweet boys</a> foot before he was too big and too cool to realize how weird I am.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div>Are you ready to make your own sweet little ghost? Here is what you are going to need:<br />
*T-Shrit (Black would have been ideal for me, but I was working with what I had, and you can too:)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"> *One cute little eensy weensy foot. (Or in my case, a 3yo with a super huge ginormous foot, because your cute little eensy weensy baby foot wouldn't be still. Just to be clear, I love my super, huge, ginormous, 3yo foot just as much as my eensy, weensy, baby foot;)</div>*White fabric<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">*Black fabric</div>*Buttons, Ribbon, or any other embellishments you feel necessary.<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">*Iron on Tape (optional)</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiqfbBKxxU_0XEf_ERiKLtrdhocSy4d-3Ns2UDZftYgN0SgIbnhV0qschTQWHcQKq6BHON0NDQ_shYN2lEGjJ0MlXweQE4cU40xWYP2mpfNXLI1XuZtHr9pvn1rHNpLVTWBxuLCUdKd48/s1600/photo_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiqfbBKxxU_0XEf_ERiKLtrdhocSy4d-3Ns2UDZftYgN0SgIbnhV0qschTQWHcQKq6BHON0NDQ_shYN2lEGjJ0MlXweQE4cU40xWYP2mpfNXLI1XuZtHr9pvn1rHNpLVTWBxuLCUdKd48/s320/photo_2.jpg" width="240px" /></a>These are the shirts I used. I think they turned out super cute with these colors. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"> </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">So, what I did is traced my childs foot on to paper, cut it out and pinned it to white fabric, backwards, then cut it out. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoUKNlha1CmQ5yMfLiPiecI1_rIhqS54G0guM-kyr6kkLNHjfmncKAyr6syuqmQjDbDPLTtzxoaQqGBGvD9T6w-wNFimVkWPmSp6lXPpjObFgwdWeQVJTdS3hs7-Mv4IjuGIvkNM7jwH0/s1600/photo_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoUKNlha1CmQ5yMfLiPiecI1_rIhqS54G0guM-kyr6kkLNHjfmncKAyr6syuqmQjDbDPLTtzxoaQqGBGvD9T6w-wNFimVkWPmSp6lXPpjObFgwdWeQVJTdS3hs7-Mv4IjuGIvkNM7jwH0/s320/photo_3.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div> I also cut out a mouth and drew a squigily circle to use as the arms for my ghost. (I apologize for my wonderful art skills :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnz_I7kmY_ROO4vKrSiZDhNG1c5I68dpre6ZwZcGicd_X2L1LXTgAtiDOLr6fZri0bIsSm8GHaiR-UQEcfwF7zsshEgUDOj2Wv-slsYTx8fwTO9vwR8e3p3ybHb_0TKPwqsw0qWMRelXg/s1600/photo_4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnz_I7kmY_ROO4vKrSiZDhNG1c5I68dpre6ZwZcGicd_X2L1LXTgAtiDOLr6fZri0bIsSm8GHaiR-UQEcfwF7zsshEgUDOj2Wv-slsYTx8fwTO9vwR8e3p3ybHb_0TKPwqsw0qWMRelXg/s320/photo_4.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I cut out all my pieces on white fabric, and placed on the shirt. I decided to mix it up a little and put it up in the top left hand side. I know, I'm a wild one. I used iron on tape to hold our little ghost in place while I sewed it. But it's totally optional. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtwzd8lm3I9eKnzY9kjiAN2ZtctBG63ItLlpPZNnyh09vVzRR5HV1NCUcprFKP_MSiT4wQer92Fl704-OShi-I6a17ZNH9CQ5ozyiOTplmHpy2ZDyYDKAZ7Dz1DNGWsW918rB_bj5Lc8Y/s1600/photo45436.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtwzd8lm3I9eKnzY9kjiAN2ZtctBG63ItLlpPZNnyh09vVzRR5HV1NCUcprFKP_MSiT4wQer92Fl704-OShi-I6a17ZNH9CQ5ozyiOTplmHpy2ZDyYDKAZ7Dz1DNGWsW918rB_bj5Lc8Y/s320/photo45436.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div> Then, I just sewed it on, added my eyes, mouth, and a little bow for our girl ghost. I chose to hand sew our new little friend, but it's just as easy to use your machine. And that's it! Don't you just love it?! I know I do! I'll try to upload a picture of our little boy ghost and his bow tie soon. <br />

The fires around us here in Texas are still blazing, but the wind has stopped and the humidity is not nearly as dry as it has been. Please keep praying for all the families, firefighters, and the search teams. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Alrighty peeps, who wants to make another hair bow? You do?! Well, lets get to it then! If you read the above paragraph you know that I live in Texas. And if you know that I live in Texas you know that with the start of football, people be crazy. And if you know that I live in Texas, it's football season, and we're crazy about football, then you know we have to do it BIG! That means big bows! These are my "Homecoming Bows", it's almost like wearing a mum in your hair. Do other states have mums? Is that just a Texas thing? 3/8, 5/8, 7/8 and 1.5in Ribbon<br />
Large alligator clip<br />
Hot glue<br />
Embroidery thread<br />
Embellishments (beads, chains, bells, ect.)<br />
Pony O, or Hair clip<br />
<br />
<br />
These bows can be as big or as small and as elaborate or simple as you want. I'm going to go through the steps on how I made this particular one, then you can use your creative juices and make your own. Sound good? Let's go!<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">First of all you need to know how to make a Tails Down Bow, it's really simple once you get the hang of it, but it is a lot of folding, so be patient with yourself. I'm using 1.5in wide grossgrain ribbon. I don't cut the ribbon off of the roll to make these. I find it is easier to get it the way I want by having all the ribbon at my fingertips. </div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now cut your second "tail" that's still attatched to the roll off even with the first. And there you have it!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7jjq4-F1tCD8k6EkjyzhyphenhyphenypF5dqwGTU85MPH4XkQ0mY4V6s3ud3GhZ6mEaZQfWvR1BXRCVkLIuNjJ-J998YW13wPeAmNv2pN9qdwMplc-P4lgId1_UT-SIFtiNCTg0bek7FLzR6FpAro/s1600/IMAG02713.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" nba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7jjq4-F1tCD8k6EkjyzhyphenhyphenypF5dqwGTU85MPH4XkQ0mY4V6s3ud3GhZ6mEaZQfWvR1BXRCVkLIuNjJ-J998YW13wPeAmNv2pN9qdwMplc-P4lgId1_UT-SIFtiNCTg0bek7FLzR6FpAro/s320/IMAG02713.JPG" width="191px" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Next we are going to make one more Tails Down Bow. This time with only two loops, it should look just like a simple bow. I'm using 7/8in ribbon for this one. Try to make them as even as possible, but if they aren't it's not that big of a dea because it will be covered up. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOwyMViz7nFBlBRBIekl3apNziA2CE4h-qqD_6_uQV2aVR3bs5kmQPFpdsQrA2rDvyUwYk93I9kvnVJ6G7gmt7wjOdYb474PuEXveCGg_UDYOZROdhEhAlFq7QrabOELyroCk95QjJdg/s1600/IMAG0272.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="191px" nba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYOwyMViz7nFBlBRBIekl3apNziA2CE4h-qqD_6_uQV2aVR3bs5kmQPFpdsQrA2rDvyUwYk93I9kvnVJ6G7gmt7wjOdYb474PuEXveCGg_UDYOZROdhEhAlFq7QrabOELyroCk95QjJdg/s320/IMAG0272.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
Now we are going to make your "streamers". The measurements of the streamers will depend on how long your tails down bows are. Streamers are really great for using up your scrap ribbon, because they can be any length or size. Gather up 4-6 coordnating ribbons and place the middle of them all in your clip and tie them together. <br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd9WIBohJK64qg2Ol9gmMq6zWfvulzE-WBrYcGsO5jC9fBVqeeHRuRpTu-aW4fyZYscPY-GgHs9puooXZFf6sD_SQu9dUiKKu9Wh0SF5ygRucSLcwUyRqSEYWMElai70ksAA-KEsGUWrw/s1600/IMAG0273.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" nba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd9WIBohJK64qg2Ol9gmMq6zWfvulzE-WBrYcGsO5jC9fBVqeeHRuRpTu-aW4fyZYscPY-GgHs9puooXZFf6sD_SQu9dUiKKu9Wh0SF5ygRucSLcwUyRqSEYWMElai70ksAA-KEsGUWrw/s320/IMAG0273.jpg" width="191px" /></a></div> Finally comes the assembly! The largest tails down bow will be in the back, then your streamers, and finally your small bow on top. Tie them all together, as tight as possible, with your thread. Take a 6in length of your 7/8in ribbon and tie it in a knot. The knot will be in the middle and your two long end will wrap around the bow. Glue in place then attatch to your clip.<br />

A family member emailed me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I could make her a baby shower gift. "Well of course I can!" She gave me free reign over the entire project, which I love! Here is what I ended up with:</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX6xGNTN7Hcjd4dnwhrnUNlae7TOk74ahjU57dz8-TKBvluIxHFIipHptc1eByZNJ6bGMR1QXCEUsblcgtQdzXahyphenhyphenHlcFoDkFkhzVUw7G0S0hyhbA4iNfT9m2Dp1eKl0ZldvxqVuvM1UY/s1600/IMAG0260.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" nba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX6xGNTN7Hcjd4dnwhrnUNlae7TOk74ahjU57dz8-TKBvluIxHFIipHptc1eByZNJ6bGMR1QXCEUsblcgtQdzXahyphenhyphenHlcFoDkFkhzVUw7G0S0hyhbA4iNfT9m2Dp1eKl0ZldvxqVuvM1UY/s320/IMAG0260.jpg" width="191px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Tutu's are always my go to project when I'm in a pinch. They are fast, simple, and make a big impact. There are Tutu tutorials all over Blogland. My technique has kind of adapted on it's own over the years, through lots of trial and error. If you would like a tutorial on mine, please let me know!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Next, I just bought a plain white onsie and appliqued the letter on it. Easy peasy. I also made her a matching hair bow and headband. (More on that soon:)</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Sorry for being short today, I will try to post more details later. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">And finally, I'm ending this post with one of the hardest, saddest things I've ever had to go through. Daniel's sweet Granny went home to be with our Lord last week. Although I only had the privlege to know her for a few years, she made a huge, HUGE impact on my life. And I know so many other people can atest to what an amazing lady she was. It was truly a gift to know her for as long as I did. At the funeral her granddaughters read Proverbs 31: The wife of Noble Character. I am still amazed at how much this passage directly reflected everything our Granny was. If you have never read it, I would encourage you to do so. I will spend the rest of my days trying to please the Lord and the people around me in the ways that our Granny did. Please call your loved ones and tell them how much you love them and hug their neck next time you see them. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Here are the verses from Proverbs 31: 10-31(NIV)</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Epilogue: The wife of Noble Character</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">10 A wife of noble character who can find? </div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">She is worth far more than rubies. </div><div style="text-align: center;">11 Her husband has full confidence in her </div><div style="text-align: center;">and lacks nothing of value. </div><div style="text-align: center;">12 She brings him good, not harm, </div><div style="text-align: center;">all the days of her life. </div><div style="text-align: center;">13 She selects wool and flax </div><div style="text-align: center;">and works with eager hands. </div><div style="text-align: center;">14 She is like the merchant ships, </div><div style="text-align: center;">bringing her food from afar. </div><div style="text-align: center;">15 She gets up while it is still night; </div><div style="text-align: center;">she provides food for her family </div><div style="text-align: center;">and portions for her female servants. </div><div style="text-align: center;">16 She considers a field and buys it; </div><div style="text-align: center;">out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. </div><div style="text-align: center;">17 She sets about her work vigorously; </div><div style="text-align: center;">her arms are strong for her tasks. </div><div style="text-align: center;">18 She sees that her trading is profitable, </div><div style="text-align: center;">and her lamp does not go out at night. </div><div style="text-align: center;">19 In her hand she holds the distaff </div><div style="text-align: center;">and grasps the spindle with her fingers. </div><div style="text-align: center;">20 She opens her arms to the poor </div><div style="text-align: center;">and extends her hands to the needy. </div><div style="text-align: center;">21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; </div><div style="text-align: center;">for all of them are clothed in scarlet. </div><div style="text-align: center;">22 She makes coverings for her bed; </div><div style="text-align: center;">she is clothed in fine linen and purple. </div><div style="text-align: center;">23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, </div><div style="text-align: center;">where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. </div><div style="text-align: center;">24 She makes linen garments and sells them, </div><div style="text-align: center;">and supplies the merchants with sashes. </div><div style="text-align: center;">25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; </div><div style="text-align: center;">she can laugh at the days to come. </div><div style="text-align: center;">26 She speaks with wisdom, </div><div style="text-align: center;">and faithful instruction is on her tongue. </div><div style="text-align: center;">27 She watches over the affairs of her household </div><div style="text-align: center;">and does not eat the bread of idleness. </div><div style="text-align: center;">28 Her children arise and call her blessed; </div><div style="text-align: center;">her husband also, and he praises her: </div><div style="text-align: center;">29 “Many women do noble things, </div><div style="text-align: center;">but you surpass them all.” </div><div style="text-align: center;">30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; </div><div style="text-align: center;">but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. </div><div style="text-align: center;">31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, </div><div style="text-align: center;">and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. .</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Lucky for me, Pinterest is AWE to the SOME and somebody left a comment in ENGLISH. But to keep with proper Blogger etiquette <a href="http://www.passionnailart.com/">here</a> is the link. If you speak french or whatever then you can follow their tutorial. If not then you can follow mine. Mmmmkay, here we go:</div><br />

You are also going to need this "Secret Ingredient" I'm not going to tell you what it is, but if you figure it out then you're in business. Oh, I'm just kidding it's {<em><u>whisper}</u></em> <strong>Vodka!</strong> Gasp!<strong> </strong>Don't judge me. If you don't have vodka most any kind of clear alcohol will work. If you don't keep liquer in the house, maybe you could borrow some from your neighbor. Err....maybe not. <br />
<br />
Anyway- All you do is paint your base coat and color and let them dry. Then dip your fingernail into the <em>vodka. </em>Take your newspaper clippings and press onto your drunken nail firmly, gently peel it off and voila! Repeat it on all your nails then finish them with a top coat. So fun and cute! <br />

It's okay, I won't tell!<br />

Oh, and see that little sliver there? Yeah, it's about to be in my belly! Jealous?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>We had this cake on Easter Sunday, along with Carrot Cake(I posted about it <a href="http://sweetpeasandkisses.blogspot.com/2011/04/best-carrot-cake-ever.html">here</a>), a super delicious ham and too much other stuff that was amazingly good and made me way to stuffed! Anyway, while we were at the table enjoying our desserts my husband informed me that "This buttermilk cake is my absolute favorite, it's so good." To which I replied "You say that about everything." But, he is right folks, it's soooo good! It's light and fluffy and the perfect summer treat (or spring if you don't live in Texs and it's not 90 degrees outside:). It's even better if you throw some berries on top. If you weren't drooling before, I bet you are now right? Would you like for me to quit torturing you with how delicious this cake is and give you the recipe already? Alright, here you go:<br />
<br />
Old Fashioned Buttermilk Cake (from my mother-in-law):<br />
2c. Sugar<br />
3/4c. Crisco<br />
3 Eggs<br />
2c. Flour<br />
1/2tsp. Baking Soda<br />
1/4 tsp. Salt<br />
1tsp. Baking powder<br />
1tbsp. Vanilla<br />
1tbsp. Almond Extract<br />
1c. Buttermilk*<br />
<br />
-Pre-heat oven to 350.<br />
<br />
-Grease and flour your bundt pan well.<br />
<br />
-Mix the sugar and crisco well, until creamy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Add all dry ingredients, mix well. Then add the buttermilk, vanilla, and almond extracts. Mix well, then pour into bundt pan. Bake for 50min-1hr. <br />
<br />
*If you don't have buttermilk you can mix 1tsp vinegar with regular milk. Let it sit about 10 min before using.<br />
<br />
Easy peasy right?! We top our cake with strawberries, but I know any berry would be equally delicious! Don't fret if you don't have berries, it's super good just by itself. I hope you will try this cake and enjoy it as much as we do! <br />
<br />

Best carrot cake EVER! This particular recipe was handed down to me from my Grandma (aka Nanny). My Nanny is a very special lady that I am very close to. She is the one who taught me to bake and she is also the one that I blame for my addiction to chocolate. (I'm in denial) With Easter on Sunday, I thought this would be the perfect time to share this with you! I can't wait to have a <s>sliver slice</s> hunk of this deliciousness! So, let's get this party started!<br />
<br />
Here is what your gonna need:<br />
<b>2 c. Flour</b><br />
<b>2c. Sugar</b><br />
<b>4 Eggs</b><br />
<b>3c. Grated Carrots</b> (They sale bags of grated carrots now, but when I learned to make this the very first time, it was the ol` peel and grate technique! Good times!)<br />
<b>1 1/2c Veggie Oil</b><br />
<b>1tsp. Vanilla</b><br />
<b>2tsp. Cinnamon</b><br />
<b>1/2tsp. Salt</b><br />
<b>2tsp. Baking Powder</b><br />
<b>1tst. Baking Soda</b><br />
<b><br />
</b><br />
Here's what your gonna do:<br />
Pre-heat oven to 350<br />
Mix dry ingredients. Add oil, eggs and vanilla and blend well. Bake in 3 9in round pans @350 for about 30 min. You'll know when those babies are done! Easy peasy right?<br />
<br />
<u>Now for the Heaven(aka Frosting)</u><br />
You will need:<br />
1c. Chopped Pecans<br />
1box Powdered Sugar<br />
1 package Cream Cheese (8oz)(softened)<br />
1 stick Margarine (softened)<br />
1tsp. Vanilla<br />
<br />
Mix cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Add vanilla, powdered sugar, and pecans. Blend well. If your frosting is to thick to spread you can mix in a tablespoon of milk one at a time until it's smooth enough to spread. I've never had to do this, but I just wanted to throw it out there, just in case!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2V3lPhSEbJxM3yNKQJkM7tovXkhSCPhy51-aLjxiIgxGDy0XpqMOqLnRsMnmUL0w0ZG2MlPMEOXs8M8o5P3Q7Dm4eJ5F5Bfo9pP28ULyNVcNEETEpl_xUUnxzoKHwccLvkvMq_biQQ8/s1600/adf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2V3lPhSEbJxM3yNKQJkM7tovXkhSCPhy51-aLjxiIgxGDy0XpqMOqLnRsMnmUL0w0ZG2MlPMEOXs8M8o5P3Q7Dm4eJ5F5Bfo9pP28ULyNVcNEETEpl_xUUnxzoKHwccLvkvMq_biQQ8/s320/adf.jpg" width="302" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
I searched and searched for a better picture, but this is the only one I could find. My wedding cake was my Nanny's carrot cake recipe, and it was so delicious and special!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghFHtgGP25WEUt6QJVP258-tASDvmWSLQD3BAF28A0ePGnQX7lIEwg5ZY_F8a4scpARx-T-9w7HYU33y79nzLq5jiIPoAJXS9GjIQ2JOBn-6STGD6DBp1BgpqS3pWtoap3IcLegRVJips/s1600/photo+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghFHtgGP25WEUt6QJVP258-tASDvmWSLQD3BAF28A0ePGnQX7lIEwg5ZY_F8a4scpARx-T-9w7HYU33y79nzLq5jiIPoAJXS9GjIQ2JOBn-6STGD6DBp1BgpqS3pWtoap3IcLegRVJips/s320/photo+2.jpg" width="239" /></a></div><br />
<br />
I hope you will try this recipe out. It's really simple, I promise! I would love to see your pics or hear about how delicious you thought it was!<br />

THIS GIRL! I am happy to report that while hiding under a rock was fun for a little while, we now have a working computer again. Since we live in Texas, and the weather has been 80-90 degrees since the middle of march, I didn't think I would miss my computer <em>that </em>much. Boy was I wrong. <br />
<br />
I often think "It would be so awesome to live back in the day." You know, the day before electricity. The day before all of new fangled technologies, like can openers, and indoor plumbing. Then I wonder if I could survive. Could you? I know that I <em>could, </em>but it would definitely be a transition. Everything would be so much simpler. There would be no government conflicts. No talk of recessions, or shut downs. No terrorists, or airport security. Or even an airport for Pete's sake. God would still be number one, and nobody would even question it. <strong><u>Everyone</u></strong> would go to their Sunday meetin` place to worship and visit. <br />
<br />
There would be no worrying over bills, because you wouldn't have any. You would grow your food, and trade your neighbors for things you needed. No credit cards or debt, unless you count what you owe the local general store when your crops come in. Yes, things would certainly be more simple. But would they be easier? I'm not sure. Just my two cents. Amen.<br />

I am also <br>participating in Lent for the first time this year, for personal <br>reasons. It was my choice and with alot of praying and soul searching, <br>I think it's one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. I <br>choose to give up sweets, mostly chocolate and cokes. It may sound <br>petty, but for someone who consumes both things daily, it hasn't been <br>easy!<p>Oh, and did I mention that we are now computer-less, and camera-less?! <br>Yeah...I know! Luckily, we still have internet and TV so we aren't <br>completely living in the stone age! So, I'm blogging from my iPhone <br>(thank you Steve Jobs for this wonderful invention!) and checking <br>facebook, Twitter and all that good stuff on the TV through our <br>playstation!<p>Someday I hope to be back in my groove, but for now I'm enjoying <br>seeing all the great inspiration and blogland! I. KNOW. I have craft shame. It's one of those things that you just do without thinking about and then realize that other people might like to know <em>how ya do whatcha do</em>. So here goes part one of my series, I'm going to try to post a new hair bow tutorial at least once a week until I run out of different types. <br />
<br />
This first bow is probably known to most of you a "Boutique" bow, but I think the way I do mine is different than the right way. Hey, that's me....always gotta be the odd ball! (Please excuse these bad iPhone pics. My birthday is in March, can you guess what's at the top of my list? ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0iaHKEnRe9yCKddPi5D_TOSrv7cZICC3DIovEBbFRrF3uyQPHkTlHbts1hQ0Fhf8c5-fUEq9pWRINj5i_3mG9K36Y__k6CS3QnVvEX-JzU1dvcBE8pm5yt89igcBJSfmZkGwFyLPiTPc/s1600/photo+52-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0iaHKEnRe9yCKddPi5D_TOSrv7cZICC3DIovEBbFRrF3uyQPHkTlHbts1hQ0Fhf8c5-fUEq9pWRINj5i_3mG9K36Y__k6CS3QnVvEX-JzU1dvcBE8pm5yt89igcBJSfmZkGwFyLPiTPc/s320/photo+52-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
You likey? Want one? Or ten? Here's what you do:<br />
<br />
First, gather your supplies.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi56wu5bQ-2mdy62YAyvlAZOaIOqj-ldDIE6RIdUeIcxR6a4RBoh9EEb1r3f1HPVqvXXFILtzs5P2AkA_HngM9pg7l1TpD_5a33NWBruriWVHRV3we7KHz4WkSJ6iCB_rXUYxvg6svq8cQ/s1600/photonvxn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi56wu5bQ-2mdy62YAyvlAZOaIOqj-ldDIE6RIdUeIcxR6a4RBoh9EEb1r3f1HPVqvXXFILtzs5P2AkA_HngM9pg7l1TpD_5a33NWBruriWVHRV3we7KHz4WkSJ6iCB_rXUYxvg6svq8cQ/s320/photonvxn.jpg" width="228" /></a></div> You will need some- <br />
*Ribbon (I used grossgrain 1.5in. I find it the easiest to work with, but any kind will work)<br />
*Needle and thread<br />
*Lighter or fray check<br />
*Yard stick<br />
*Hair clip<br />
*3in of 3/8in coordinating ribbon<br />
*3in of 5/8 or 7/8 in coordinating ribbon<br />
*Hot glue<br />
*Scissors<br />
*Straight pin<br />
Now that you have all your goodies gathered, take your 1.5in ribbon and cut (2) 12in pieces. <br />
<br />
Take one piece and make a circle and do a running stitch through it. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzMA-QN_lcJ_cdKmzD0NxzQ3UX7dozeufzyMAubBwzFP0IOmX5vAkCjersaOMsPskePpnMkHYWCyGFCkpjhYoWOQn-Cftnjnj1ngIHD9G0N1mncKv6xPe8hCN5JbDPBanhgjxExSTTgAg/s1600/photo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzMA-QN_lcJ_cdKmzD0NxzQ3UX7dozeufzyMAubBwzFP0IOmX5vAkCjersaOMsPskePpnMkHYWCyGFCkpjhYoWOQn-Cftnjnj1ngIHD9G0N1mncKv6xPe8hCN5JbDPBanhgjxExSTTgAg/s320/photo.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>Then make a crease in the middle of your ribbon.. Make sense? Here's a pic, I hope that helps. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBjbCgiNg84ylc82t1gmJEBYbAXToUasLDh9kIhkWR7u5pM-oSlbRH-Jy-XspInznJlecQoN-pWTuo-irFAW9rdLEYfhHHqF3lokh6Uf1m_aJe5afvTqzLpHBzDvu3wDljhCQmVdt4oec/s1600/photo+2-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBjbCgiNg84ylc82t1gmJEBYbAXToUasLDh9kIhkWR7u5pM-oSlbRH-Jy-XspInznJlecQoN-pWTuo-irFAW9rdLEYfhHHqF3lokh6Uf1m_aJe5afvTqzLpHBzDvu3wDljhCQmVdt4oec/s320/photo+2-1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU7kTNEheiml5EavVN4mJgTEnA6ypDOGEAsFdkpPvHbt0W-J99KLICn0rT2XNjf_6Ej8pXeqM9S6cPpYmc2YYxpArCCiVbOL01M2yxaV-EkkzLc9VLYCP-7zMEatoaLS3xVQJbW7CZhNY/s1600/photo+3-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU7kTNEheiml5EavVN4mJgTEnA6ypDOGEAsFdkpPvHbt0W-J99KLICn0rT2XNjf_6Ej8pXeqM9S6cPpYmc2YYxpArCCiVbOL01M2yxaV-EkkzLc9VLYCP-7zMEatoaLS3xVQJbW7CZhNY/s320/photo+3-1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>I'm right handed, so if your not then do the exact opposite of everything I'm about to tell you! With your left hand holding the ribbon, take your right hand and twist the crease around until it's parallel with the ribbon, making a figure 8. It should look something like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjimF4H5azwB6QXgZJJjLqtI9xHIvne6rYMxVkFmbBjrrhKKwxylb6SV8grjqk032A8_GUNhaE6t9BvOZnV_txJ8o7DMPl1Fwzgt_4kaTWhesyacTbO7sl9zaYn1BM3yeJmH5NTAsBAnOA/s1600/photo6-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjimF4H5azwB6QXgZJJjLqtI9xHIvne6rYMxVkFmbBjrrhKKwxylb6SV8grjqk032A8_GUNhaE6t9BvOZnV_txJ8o7DMPl1Fwzgt_4kaTWhesyacTbO7sl9zaYn1BM3yeJmH5NTAsBAnOA/s320/photo6-1.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>Then do a running stitch through the middle and pull it tight. Wrap your thread around a couple of times and tie it off. (Sorry I didn't get a picture of this step.)<br />
<br />
Do the exact same thing with your other 12in piece of ribbon. <br />
<br />
When you have 2 figure 8's all you do is tie them together. I used wire so you could see it, but thread will hold it just fine. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7gMtdO4fX3RKzwI34AUbEUX1Z39ehyO4Kto_EL2d3L-KSDQ9k5u2p8IgU3NmwEgiOgWKcXgJiQ0arbwDovdS7kqYiYuE7QP71WWGJjIiBaoFyizk6XvHaWVmts4iQLVEFAWX-Z9KTZYg/s1600/photo+4-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7gMtdO4fX3RKzwI34AUbEUX1Z39ehyO4Kto_EL2d3L-KSDQ9k5u2p8IgU3NmwEgiOgWKcXgJiQ0arbwDovdS7kqYiYuE7QP71WWGJjIiBaoFyizk6XvHaWVmts4iQLVEFAWX-Z9KTZYg/s320/photo+4-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Then take your 3in piece of 5/8 or 7/8 in ribbon (I used 7/8in) and tie it in a knot like so:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisF1g3RNBC0lQ7MdgneFecJ2qnAI-l3wRoCP38SvzJDiSRSNujywMiR5DSwrmSQcC_v6tzh5tzlgBjNVTXstIJColRw3F9A4fPpXUs4GY72TSxvBbJigDMVRJZCMiS-_38Rn30-RcWoEY/s1600/photo+41-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisF1g3RNBC0lQ7MdgneFecJ2qnAI-l3wRoCP38SvzJDiSRSNujywMiR5DSwrmSQcC_v6tzh5tzlgBjNVTXstIJColRw3F9A4fPpXUs4GY72TSxvBbJigDMVRJZCMiS-_38Rn30-RcWoEY/s320/photo+41-1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>Place the center of the knot on the front of your bow and glue it around the bow. Take your 3/8 in ribbon and glue it around your clip. Sorry I didn't get pictures of this step either, but if you've made any sort of hair clip before then you already know this step. If not, email me and I will send you instructions :) <br />
<br />
After everything is done you should have this little cutie to show off!<br />

Have I got something fun for you today! Here's the pitch- Are you tired of losing pacifiers? Or having to dig around to find them in your diaper bag or car seat? Do you have pacifier clips but lose those too or forget to put them on your pacifier? Yeah... me too!! Enter The Paci Pal-<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBW6Vd1ixYNaa8etRzcJIpnB9kG5EulLQTTgOQChE9jL1gRFJIxp_A-7WV8db2FEb5Z9mSq7_fyXHO8wgoEwz0Sq347Sdzv9WEL1jqSUGwAswCP3rrD9W3K_wJz2jLZex4rvuJHQVxsmU/s1600/photoadv.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBW6Vd1ixYNaa8etRzcJIpnB9kG5EulLQTTgOQChE9jL1gRFJIxp_A-7WV8db2FEb5Z9mSq7_fyXHO8wgoEwz0Sq347Sdzv9WEL1jqSUGwAswCP3rrD9W3K_wJz2jLZex4rvuJHQVxsmU/s320/photoadv.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Isn't he adorable?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Have you seen the "Binky Buddy" online anywhere? I first saw them on Etsy and thought they were adorable! But they are anywhere from $15-40, seriously. So I decided to make my own. FOR FREE! And, guess what? You can too :) I'm calling it a Paci Pal because my hubby is against calling them <em>"binkies".</em> He says "It's a pacifier, not a binky." (He's weird;)<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div>All you need is a small stuffed animal. The flatter the better. I used a Beanie Baby and cut him open in the belly and took some of the <em>beanie</em> out. <br />
Your also going to need:<br />
4in piece of ribbon <br />
1- 1in piece of velcro. (I don't know velcro etiquette but, the rough and soft side)<br />
Seam ripper<br />
Needle and thread<br />
<br />
First take your velcro and sew it onto your ribbon. Sew one 1in piece at the very end of the ribbon, then sew the other piece at your 3in mark. You should have one inch of velcro, one inch of ribbon, one inch of velcro, one inch of ribbon. Make sense? Good!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhClI6ju22HuyxOWUqnjNnaQPOkHOFMgepk6aaSmeKBAPpqYOK_N96ENNUcwYsvtWS9VU8HjIC5RnxCbhgb7t1fKWDXmXfiJXhnrhmOzW3g_0gFKc_vPf6UfSNs8RvN6_L29tgkEL_Pr7M/s1600/photoava.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhClI6ju22HuyxOWUqnjNnaQPOkHOFMgepk6aaSmeKBAPpqYOK_N96ENNUcwYsvtWS9VU8HjIC5RnxCbhgb7t1fKWDXmXfiJXhnrhmOzW3g_0gFKc_vPf6UfSNs8RvN6_L29tgkEL_Pr7M/s320/photoava.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Now, take your seam ripper and rip the thread out around your pals mouth. I know it sounds brutal, but they don't mind :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJOnQa2UVIjsHspEerbNW5qtApioztnAjTC1LRSuTB2zNjvz5XWm4dpYrzA6hiUMCdZrBUTdKaQNGQQidwdVcPxWX3iA8zconxT_THS6fp2flUI4x545iZetnnWAl2nITAHOaPvXm3blU/s1600/photo+2avf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJOnQa2UVIjsHspEerbNW5qtApioztnAjTC1LRSuTB2zNjvz5XWm4dpYrzA6hiUMCdZrBUTdKaQNGQQidwdVcPxWX3iA8zconxT_THS6fp2flUI4x545iZetnnWAl2nITAHOaPvXm3blU/s320/photo+2avf.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And rip about one inch open:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiRpXoWx0q3nEahIliy88_WijZ3fD-F7MsajSeQFCzCeZmA6IRqPcC3Sr5MZvboCeYlG1CJVnC205t0PJCi5OfbpkjiPBu_32m8EfrweHZBoi-KKNjW-fBghfcP4CmEkP7oQMtXn3AH3Q/s1600/photo+3ada.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiRpXoWx0q3nEahIliy88_WijZ3fD-F7MsajSeQFCzCeZmA6IRqPcC3Sr5MZvboCeYlG1CJVnC205t0PJCi5OfbpkjiPBu_32m8EfrweHZBoi-KKNjW-fBghfcP4CmEkP7oQMtXn3AH3Q/s320/photo+3ada.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><span style="font-size: x-small;"><em>*Disclaimer- Yes, I know I have a fat thumb. It is short and stumpy and completely different than my other one. Everyone makes fun of me and calls it a toe. Sorry if it grosses you out ;)</em></span><br />
<br />
Then take the end of your ribbon that doesn't have velcro on it and stick it in his open mouth until you are about 1/4 in away from the velcro piece, and sew it shut. I sewed mine a little to the side because I thought it might be a little bit easier, but it doesn't matter.<br />
<br />

It's a little bit wintery, a little bit spring-ish, a little bit Valentines, and a little bit rock-n-roll. Well, maybe not. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJc8_vLNXgQSoS4gvNVy45aCCUcaCSmFInPAds2aGK15_xCnyBOHbHw1ULekhntzEOTjZMmkImuX4LYm32PvWXS6-WCL0WAfoLsbi81v1CGgabChjKFXRBmpAtxDaE4bdSFhrI4m_HWoI/s1600/DSC08489-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJc8_vLNXgQSoS4gvNVy45aCCUcaCSmFInPAds2aGK15_xCnyBOHbHw1ULekhntzEOTjZMmkImuX4LYm32PvWXS6-WCL0WAfoLsbi81v1CGgabChjKFXRBmpAtxDaE4bdSFhrI4m_HWoI/s320/DSC08489-1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Here's the rundown- The mirror above has our last name on it with <em>Families are Forever </em>over top of it. What? You can't see it? There's a glare? Oh yeah, that's because I'm such an awesome picture taker....NOT! Sorry peeps;) The mirror is from Home Interiors (I don't think it's called that anymore) and it's probably as old as I am, but it was a hand me down from my Grandma so I love it. I added the vinyl to it last year, and I really want to paint it but i'm scared and can't decide on a color, so for now it stays as is. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwhbrMsgZ6HHV7EXpelv497-Sd3cSdsTw9EmKLfMhZVfJtAks9ty9IjKOoFp7j-cRP5NQ_9riKqeIZVtmnpb3dcU1fh-sBZ29GV2FTm95M7duHBfyOUu1qd6-syebJ6R7z97V7E6ZT9Yc/s1600/DSC08491-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwhbrMsgZ6HHV7EXpelv497-Sd3cSdsTw9EmKLfMhZVfJtAks9ty9IjKOoFp7j-cRP5NQ_9riKqeIZVtmnpb3dcU1fh-sBZ29GV2FTm95M7duHBfyOUu1qd6-syebJ6R7z97V7E6ZT9Yc/s320/DSC08491-1.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>I picked up some pine cones outside and put them in a jar, and scattered them across the mantle. I left my green garland up there from Christmas to give it a little more natural look. I used some moss and porcelain eggs to make a "nest" and put a chubby little bird on top. We'll call her Gretta :)<br />

I guess that's about all my little mantle has to offer for now :) Beth over at <a href="http://www.thestoriesofa2z.com/">The Stories of A to Z</a> is having a winter mantle linky party, you can find me there! <br />

I just finished my first before and after of the year, kinda. It's definitely an improvement, but I know it has more potential. And that's where you wonderful people come in! First let me give you a little back story on this monstrosity in my living room. It's huge. Like steroid huge. And bulky. And I DO. NOT. LIKE. IT. There. That's my little fit over our entertainment center. I will grow up now and act somewhat like an adult. But seriously, I don't like it. And I have no idea what to do with it. Oh, and did I mention it matches NOTHING else in our living room? Yeah, <em>nothing. </em><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjThrgPW5ubCcYM0AJ9SICi5CK3pwc2OV1NgT-bJC17p-arnjB51xKAcua-kZpzC0KUA-JLqFI53ldHLN38chjbaYT7J2bVDiw6U_i0JNg7k6S3q0jcpcPpCXW5vBFY3fFrS_kH_A4hyphenhyphenFg/s1600/photo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjThrgPW5ubCcYM0AJ9SICi5CK3pwc2OV1NgT-bJC17p-arnjB51xKAcua-kZpzC0KUA-JLqFI53ldHLN38chjbaYT7J2bVDiw6U_i0JNg7k6S3q0jcpcPpCXW5vBFY3fFrS_kH_A4hyphenhyphenFg/s320/photo.jpg" width="228" /></a></div>This is the only picture I could find of the thing with nothing on it. Sorry it's horrible, and you can't see half of it. But you get the idea. Oh, and we have a TV from the 90's, seriously. Yes, I would love a new flat screen, but this ol' sucker is still kicking so I can't really see the point in buying a new one. Hubby doesn't agree with me on that though, he also likes the entertainment center. Ugh! <br />
<br />
It's gotten so bad that I've considered tearing it apart. Or taking the saw to those shelves so it's not so big. Paint, maybe? I can't even hardly watch movies anymore because I keep staring at the shelves wondering what to do with them. Yeah. I know! Can we say obsessive?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggQcVkI_4tF24s11JRSV1-pg8fIGlySmQd843FDVF8dbXCUxB-Ojgj3Oj9L8EHpzHKsbJpiarRUqFhbd-aLWvW8zUfYW5R3Leu2wYt_o9WJpmufeeDBypsb-CYrcoxD1XDj25io0cCG9U/s1600/DSC08463.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggQcVkI_4tF24s11JRSV1-pg8fIGlySmQd843FDVF8dbXCUxB-Ojgj3Oj9L8EHpzHKsbJpiarRUqFhbd-aLWvW8zUfYW5R3Leu2wYt_o9WJpmufeeDBypsb-CYrcoxD1XDj25io0cCG9U/s320/DSC08463.jpg" width="273" /></a></div>Here it is after I decorated it. What do you think? I have no idea what to do with it. If you have any suggestions or ideas for it please let me know. There really is no function to it, or balance. I am not good with that stuff, but I know a lot of people in blogland are so please help me!<br />
<br />
Here are a few close up pics of the shelves. I just shopped the house, used scrapbook paper, and twine and decided I could live with it. I know it could use some improvements though.<br />

I never considered turning this into a crafty little outlet to share my projects, until I met a few awesome and totally inspirational ladies, who unknowingly encouraged me to open up a little and share some of my projects. So, bring on 2011! I am planning to have a complete blog makeover and start this new journey with a bang! I really hope you will come along and follow. I also really hope you will send any POSITIVE advice my way :) <br />

No there is no uniformity to it. Yes it has random things from random places. No it does not match anything. And yes I absolutely LOVE it! <br />
<br />

Each ornament has a story. I love that. I love how people come into our house and stare and work their way around looking at each and every ornament. I love when someone says "Oh this is pretty, what's it's story?" or "Wow, that's really odd. How did you get that?" (Yeah we hear that alot:) We have a tree topper from the 80's, ornaments from each of our childhood's and are adding new ornaments for our children. We upgraded to a fake LED tree last year. I have to say, it is alot easier then getting a real one. Especially with a toddler and a newborn!<br />

I HATE IT!! I guess that's what we get for living in an old house. Every one who sees it say "Oh, I love that window." First of all it's not a window, it's a pain. I have no idea what to do with it. I don't even think my husband knows it's there. But it's all I can see. What can I do with it?!<br />
